Another Season

I haven’t written a blog in forever and truthfully I didn’t want to be pressured into writing one, but I wanted to jot something down when I felt it was the need to.

First off I would like to start by thanking “Where’s Everybody?” for producing what I thought was a great account of my career and personal life till now. Y’know when a bunch of friends or family members give you a collage or an album to remind you of the past few years of your life….THAT’s exactly how I felt. They managed to squeeze everything into 45 mins explain stuff that wasn’t clear to a few and also make me relive so many exciting and unbelievable memories.

Secondly I’d like to moan and groan about creative juices. Why don’t they flow ALL the time? Some days are brilliant, but some days I just want to scream! This is why I ain’t good at math then? Cause it’d have been too easy to work out sums. There’s either a correct or an incorrect answer and on you move. But with Music, it’s a tad different. It’s like when people ask me how I write my songs. And YES I also write the music. Being a woman doesn’t make me not capable of playing an instrument or writing music heheheh.

I don’t even know what my method is, but I can tell you the one that works for many.

  1. 1) Have a blazing row with either of these: your boyfriend/husband/partner/lover/best friend/sister/mother
  2. 2) Be intoxicated cause we all know In Vino Veritas.
  3. 3) Dislike someone tremendously
  4. 4) Have a severe cold so your voice is all croaky, then the pain is more real in your interpretation

OR

  1. 5) Ignore the above and just go with it

Heheheheh There is never any recipe, it just has to come from your heart. My heart functions better when its been trampled on or when it’s being taken care of. Here we go again with the contradictions.

Actually what I’ve decided is that they aren’t really contradictions but rather extremes. I don’t do well with  MOR ie: Middle of The Road…it’s all or nothing baby.

Unfortunately  I’m ending my first Blog for this season on a sour note for one reason which breaks my heart.

A very good friend of mine is in need of all of your prayers and thoughts. She is the one woman who as a teenager, when I first met her, I thought was the most beautiful young woman I had ever seen and till today I still think of her like that and as a big sister.

I will never forget the day she came over to my house to hear me sing with my then band TIARA. Together with her partners she had included us as the new upcoming talent in a prominent local show at the theatre. I loved her instantly. She was beautiful, talented, honest and I felt that she had taken me under her wing for a while. After the first performance where my singing was good but my stage presence left much to be desired, she had taken me aside and given me some advice. I took note of it and thanked her. There’s nothing like a genuine remark, which shows someone cares and wants the best for you.

Please say a little prayer. Say it because you mean it and say it because in life we should all look out for each other. Say it because anything or anyone you believe in, it is always commendable to think of someone else in need. I genuinely send out my love and thoughts to all of you.

I will try to keep this as regularly as I used to before. It’s my way of reaching out to you out there and making myself heard before I do so through my music.
