Irrid Nghix
I`m tucked in bed in London, trying to have a very rare afternoon nap. But I keep thinking about someone, someone who has changed the way I look at life, even if just for a second, an hour, a day, a month or all my life, she has touched my heart and gave me a wake up call!
I had seen this young inspiring woman on a national programme, everyone watches. I was on my way out to a gig so I didn`t watch the whole program, but I heard her utter a phrase that made me do a double take. Three months have passed since then, and I met her on a flight to Gatwick. My mother was our purser so she kept checking on me and at a point she came to my seat and asked me to come with her.
She sat me down next to Annabel and her good friend Michelin. We talked and talked all through the flight. Annabel is an inspiration. She is a person who was told that she couldn`t do anything else, but she did she believed, she inspired and she definitely wasn`t defeated.
I wish you could all meet her and speak with her. She brought tears to my eyes, not pity tears, not tears of fear for her, but tears because she made me realise how much fire there is in her eyes. How much she loves life and how every day is worth everything. Tears because she speaks to you as if she`s known you all her life and she wants the best for you.
I will never forget this morning, those four hours, of chatting and talking about life with Annable whose phrase "Irrid Nghix" has inspired me to live everyday with a totally different perspective!
