Things That Made Me Smile This Weekend
- The sunshine: When I hear locals talk about the weather, I instantly hear my friend Jamie’s voice in my head telling me “you’re so lucky in Malta the sun shines almost everyday, here in London the weather is depressing” He might just be right, cause ever since the days gotten longer, there’s beams of golden heat everywhere!! Saturday it was lovely to soak up some sun and have a few cocktails. People are already swarming to the beach and wearing very little….roll on Summer.
- Children dancing in front of the stage while I played my gig at ‘The Point’ : Nowadays kids love the crap that’s played on MTV/radio ….LMFAO, Selena Gomez, Bieber etc….it’s good to see that some kids like that raw acoustic sound (we played as a trio) and actually want to dance to it. One boy played the air-guitar for a whole hour hehehe and other girls and boys were taking the dancing very seriously. At the end of the show I told them I’d pay them…one cheeky monkey actually came up on stage and asked “where’s my money?” heheheh he was probably the aspiring businessman not the upcoming musician hehehe.
- The ginormous burger I scoffed at `Bar Native` in St.Julians. I’d read somewhere that they served HUGE burgers, which were to die for, so after my gig yesterday my band mates and I went to refuel. The burger is served in a large cone, which is full of fries right till the bottom and the burger sits right on top. You’re given a side plate where you can then eat your burger and you eat your fries out of the cone. The burger is really well-priced unlike many places where you have to pay double. The Spanish waitresses are so cute too..I just love the accent, when they’re serving you something. “Djjjulike Esschprite? dengjuu”
- The song I wrote this morning….woke up with inspiration galore. So many ideas to jot down, play and sing along to. Life’s too short to not write about it!!
